Unfinished Business

A poem I wrote for the last day of 2012
Unfinished Business
By Anne Arvizu
Each year, we end the year with unfinished business.
Strings we wish could have been tied up.
Goals in progress and not yet attained.
Yet striving ceases for a night and a morning.
Take a deep breath.
Then take a breather.
Enjoy the accomplishments and milestones that came to fruition.
Anticipate those yet to be birthed.
But enjoy the night.
And the day to follow.
Look over the past year: see and decree that “It is good”.
No matter what happened or didn’t happen, good or bad,
It is our life’s patchwork fabric.
Enjoy these moments with family and friends,
Because they will never pass this way again.
Look over the year to come,
Not a day is promised, yet arise, shine and decree that “It is (already) good.”
God bless you and give you a prosperous and wonderful 2013!!!!
I will see you on the other side of BREAKTHROUGH.
Much love,
Anne
P.S. What fiscal cliff?  I’m the daughter of a King!
REST in THAT!

Ride like the Wind

3I’m on the run. No time to sleep. / I’ve got to ride. / Ride like the wind to be free again. /

Remember that song? Run with me to the new Anne’s Oasis!  Depicted above is a cartoon of me running from the busy black & white world off toward the Oasis – a place of spiritual reinvention. My company is Christian Coaching International.  CCI is the global coaching ministry I founded and have lead since December of 2005. In 2009, we finally lived up to our name claiming our international status by ministering to Nigeria and Canada. 2010 -2012 have been years of expanding our borders and increasing our circle of influence.  In 2010, we are launched our GodGoachTM programs and materials.  God’s people are so hungry for coaching so they can do great things.  His sons and daughters are dreaming dreams and seeing visions and coaching is helping them break through barriers and take the action required to bring those dreams to life.

Like you, I’ve been running hard.  But when I’m weary, I also run to the OASIS.  To Jesus, who daily waits for me there.

Discover your Destiny

November 13, 2012 — Leave a comment

2God has a destiny for each of us.  Yet, the majority of people are born and die leaving with that key question, “What am I here for?” unanswered. As a Coach, I help individuals and groups maximize goal achievement so that they can become more fulfilled in specific areas of their lives. As a GodCoachTM, I go even further;I help them discover their true purpose. Coaches help people achieve more, envision more, and do more. We also help you carve out a better quality of life for yourself and those around you.  Through purpose driven exercises, planning and action steps, you will achieve the goals you have always dreamed about.  God was the one who put those dreams in your heart to begin with and they will come to pass.  I have the privilege of helping others break through barriers of fear and doubt and run confidently in the direction of their destiny. 1Is coaching Biblical? Based on a wealth of examples in Scripture, the answer is a resounding yes. Just as God sent Titus to encourage Paul, He sometimes sends well-equipped coaches to walk beside us, guide us, and to encourage us. He also has a well thought out plan for each of our lives. In addition, He continually gives us the chance to reinvent our lives through grace. Furthermore, Jesus was the original life coach. He modeled coaching through a teaching method of questioning.  He asked over 300 questions, helping those around Him to draw their own conclusions based on their convictions and values. Life coaches do the same thing because we know the answers that you need are already inside of you. We help to draw out those answers and action steps in order to help you achieve your dreams. Lastly, life coaching is biblical because achieving your dreams and fulfilling your own unique destiny is what God wants for you.  He wants you to know the John 10:10 and Jeremiah 29:11 good plans for your unique and individual life are achievable, and coaching can help take you there. “You know.”

“Oh Lord God, You know.”
Ezekiel 37:3

This five word statement speaks volumes from the heart.  It says He knows.  He knows my…  my weariness.  He knows my pressures. He knows my pain.  He knows my aggravation, my anger, and my tired frustrations.  He knows my sorrow.  He knows my uncertainty, fears, anxiety.  Yes, He knows my sin.

It also says, He knows my path, He knows my tomorrow, He knows my dreams, He knows I’m going to stumble, fall, skin my knee, skin my heart, wretch my soul with my own wickedness.  He knows. Continue Reading…

Back in the late ‘80’s and early ‘90’s, there were a slew of computer games that drew many of us to play on our lunch hours, or a lull in work.  They were not in color, and the graphics were nearly cave drawings. They did not communicate with another player or even a main site.

Maybe you remember or have heard of them.  There were maze games and adventure games. Some required text entries: “go through door” others used command keys.  I found it so easy to just take a path and if I encountered a deadly scarab I could reach into my bag of tools (which I had found, picked up, or earned) to kill it.  If I ended up at a dead end, I would turn back.  If there was a door, I would enter, or pass it up…  I loved this game for the unknown.  I enjoyed the 20-minute escape. Twilight Monsters

November 13, 2012 — Leave a comment

What is it about the quiet of night that leads our hearts to race with worry, or dwell in loneliness?  If there are worries that plague you in the back of your mind during the day, they often come to visit at night like a monster in the closet.  The loneliness that seeps in when we are alone and tired and just weary has its strongest showing in the still twilight.  These monsters often keep us awake, disrupt our sleep, or worse, lead us down a dangerous path of escapes such as alcohol, drugs, late night movies, or porn.
